Last year Maxis released several scenarios for The Sims 4, including the Well Rounded scenario, as limited-time gameplay challenges.The community has continuously developed its own challenges for the game. The Black Widow and 100 Baby challenges are two of the most popular. While these challenges are often created by the dedicated player base, Maxis has officially made several of these scenarios into permanent base game editions.
Scenarios range in difficulty and follow a similar formula as the community-created challenges. The Well Rounded scenario is one of the permanent scenarios currently available. This scenario is aimed at creating a well-rounded young adult or adult sim.
The Sims 4 Well Rounded Scenario Completion Goals
The Sims 4 Well Rounded scenario has three goals players will need to achieve to successfully complete the challenge.
- The sim must complete 1 aspiration.
- The sim must make 3 friends.
- The sim must reach level 3 of any career.
Picking the Best Aspirations for the Well Rounded Scenario
All scenarios give players the option to start the challenge with a new sim or to use one from an existing household. Starting with a new sim for the Well Rounded scenario has the added benefit of allowing players to pick favorable traits and aspirations.
Certain aspirations available in-game are easier to complete compared to others. If players want to complete this scenario as quickly as possible they may want to select an aspiration that has fewer stages. Several of the easier-to-complete aspirations include:
- Academic (Discovery University)
- Neighborhood Confidante (Base Game)
- Friend of the World (Base Game)
- Painter Extraordinaire (Base Game)
- Nerd Brain (Base Game)
- Serial Romantic (Base Game)
- Soulmate (Base Game)
- Joke Star (Base Game)
- Inner Peace (Spa Day)
Aspirations from the Popularity branch such as Neighborhood Confidante, Joke Star, and Friend of the World will have requirements involving gaining friends which will help with scenario’s requirement as well.
Picking a House for the Well Rounded Scenario
Picking a residence can often be overlooked when attempting scenarios in The Sims 4. This will depend entirely on the expansion packs players have, however, some lots by default have traits that help with certain skills.
The City Living expansion pack features several apartments with a permanent TLC trait. These apartments will often have issues such as broken plumbing and infestations, while not ideal living conditions fixing these problems will boost a sims handiness skill, which can help with promotions in certain careers.
Once a sim moves into a lot additional lot traits can also be added, as well as lot challenges. The Study Spot lot trait will help sims in the Academic aspiration study and complete homework faster. While the Home Studio lot trait makes painting, writing, and woodworking skill progression easier for sims in creative professions.
What to Do as Soon as the Well Rounded Scenario Begins
Once players select a home for their sim getting a job should be first priority. If players have the Academic aspiration from the Discover University expansion pack, enrolling in university should be handled immediately since it does take time before the sim is accepted.
Players will want to be careful if a sim that is working is also attending university, as some occupations such as the Astronaut field will take up an entire day. University courses are beneficial because completing homework assignments also counts toward skill gain.
While The Sims 4 features a variety of jobs across the base game and expansion packs, some jobs will take more time to advance compared to others.
How to Complete the Friendship Requirement
There are usually two to three neighbor sims that will arrive as a welcome party. This will be a great chance to try and get the required three friends for the Well Rounded. A great method to boost friendship levels is by asking these sims about their interests, skills, hobbies, and career. This will help players avoid bringing up topics that could make the conversation awkward or aggravating.
The next task while waiting for the welcome party to arrive is to start building various skills. Certain aspirations will require a certain skill or set of skills to reach level 10 to complete the aspiration. Players should focus on these skills first to complete the aspiration goal.
Once the welcome wagon arrives, players will want to get on their neighbors’ good sides and knockout building those friendships. Interacting with the welcome wagon will also help sims gain the Charisma skill.
Using World Events in the Well Rounded Scenario
There are plenty of expansion pack-specific festivals and events that will happen throughout the game. Several of the events included with the City Living expansion pack can help with increasing skills for aspirations and careers.
These festivals are a great place to work on building friendships as well. If players selected the Friend of the World aspiration, events and high traffic venues (gyms, spas, and bars) will be a great place to complete that aspiration quickly.
What Happens When You Complete the Well Rounded Scenario
Once Sims 4 players complete all three Well Rounded tasks a pop-up appears with the recorded completion time for the scenario. Sims that complete the Well Rounded scenario also receive satisfaction points that can be used to purchase traits in the reward store. The 5,000 satisfaction points are given to all sims in the household, which is a great bonus when using an existing legacy household for the scenario.
