The Sims 4 is a game with a huge variety of things to do and items to use. But a lot of these items must be first unlocked and a lot of them also depend on what career you choose. Maybe you want to see how that item would look in your game or you just wanna get some debug items to decorate your build without increasing its cost, whatever the reason, this guide will show you how to show hidden objects in The Sims 4.
What are debug/hidden items?
Debug/hidden items are items that will be available in your build/buy menu using cheats. This goes without saying, but these items will not be available otherwise due to either career or experience barriers. Please note using cheats will stop your trophy progress on consoles.
On PC, before being able to enter cheats and access the debug items, you need to enable cheats. To do this:
Press Ctrl + Shift + C
Type in ‘testingcheats true’ and press enter
You should see a message stating that cheats are enabled.
Now you’ll need to enter the cheats to show the debug items and hidden items:
Type in “bb.showhiddenobjects” and press Enter.
For the second code, type “bb.showliveeditobjects” and press Enter.
Now you can back out of the cheats menu.
In order to view these items, go to the build buy menu and search for ‘debug’. The debug items will be marked “**Debug**”. To view the environment items you can simply scroll down below the regular catalog items.

Press OK on the menu which informs you that trophies will not be available on that save. (Image on the top).
You should see a message stating that cheats are enabled. (Image on the bottom).
Now that cheats are enabled on your game, you can enter the cheats to show debug and environment objects.
Enter “bb.showhiddenobjects” and press A on Xbox or X on Playstation .
Enter “bb.showliveeditobjects” and press A/X
Now back out of the cheats menu using B on Xbox or Circle on PS.
In order to view these items, go to ‘Objects by function’ menu on the bottom left, leave the search bar empty and hit R2 on PS or RT on Xbox. Then go to Filters > Content > Unknown. This will show you all debug items (Simply leaving the search bar blank can also function the same way). To see the environmental objects, simply scroll down to the catalog where the regular items end.
