The Sims 4: Paranormal brings brand-new interactions with ghosts, Bonehilda, and more items to the real-life simulator game.
The year started great for The Sims 4 players. After some packs that were not received well by the fans, like Star Wars: Journey to Bantuu and Eco Lifestyle, EA brought the Sims a phantasmagoric upgrade in the form of a Stuff Pack. Although Stuff Packs, the cheapest downloadable pack type for the Sims 4, are usually known for bringing objects and clothes, this one also brings new gameplay interactions. The Sims 4: ParanormalStuff Pack arrived January 26 and it’s the second pack released as a result of a community stuff pack vote, being Nifty Knitting Stuff the first one. The brand-new pack brings 32 new Create a Sim items and 39 Build Mode items. Some of the items are just unlocked if you survive 7 nights in a haunted house.
Although the new clothes and furniture are quite beautiful, the most interesting point of this new pack it’s the new interactions with the supernatural. Your Sim now has the ability to host a séance, follow the paranormal investigator career, interact with many types of ghosts and to summon Bonehilda, the skeleton maid from The Sims: Makin’ Magic and later returned in The Sims 3: Supernatural.
In the new freelancer career, paranormal investigator, your Sim has to use its new Medium Skill to drive away spectres that can be good or bad. Sometimes, just talking with them is enough to make them go away. Other times, a piece of your soul can be a nice offer.
The game also receives a new type of lot, the haunted house lot type. In this new lot, spectres arrive with the falling of the night to haunt you, leave cursed objects behind and make strange noises. But you better don’t make these spectres angry, for a very angry ghost can be your next visitor.
It can be frightening sometimes, or more than just sometimes, but a new friend, Guidry the Ghost, is there to teach you and answer your questions (and for more, if you want to. He is quite a romantic).
