Recently, select content creator and streaming stars got a chance to play an exclusive beta of Valorant, with a closed beta starting next Tuesday on April 7th. Many streamers have praised the game already, including Twitch star TimTheTatMan.
Tim said on his latest stream that he “had a blast” playing Valorant, the new tactical FPS from Riot Games who are best known for League Of Legends. Tim went on to give his opinion on Valorant: “I genuinely think this may be the next big thing.”
Riot’s new shooter seems to be very much like popular shooters such as CS:GO but with added character abilities, likely something inspired by their own game League Of Legends. With the decrease in players in games such as Fortnite, with many pros quitting the game too, it seems players are patiently waiting for Valorant, which could become the next big game in the world of gaming.
Poach, a popular pro player from Team Liquid, announced earlier that he is quitting playing Fortnite professionally and will no longer be streaming it, saying: “As of today I’m moving on from Fortnite, for a while now I’ve been deciding what I want to do with my future and I didn’t see Fortnite being a part of it, it just doesn’t make me happy anymore and I’m not going to stick around to something that causes unhappiness.”
Poach also noted that he will have new content being released on the 3rd of April, which is also the day we will see a lot of new content on YouTube from the streamers who were part of the Valorant closed beta. It seems Poach, among many, will be making the switch to Valorant, with the hope it will become the next big eSports game.
