After G2 beat Machi, they needed this result more than ever. TL beat Suning, keeping their desperate hopes to reach the play-offs at Worlds 2020 alive. They still need two other results to go their way, though.
The draft had Suning build a team with strong mobility through the ability of teleporting three players around the map, while Liquid went for a bulky composition packed with engage and crowd control, and the ability to contest mid lane priority to keep TF in check.
However, everything was thrown out of the window at the very first minute of the game, when Liquid’s invade resulted in a skirmish that only ended two minutes later at 2:30. The outcome of the brawl? 3 kills to 1 in favor of Liquid, one camp for each jungler, a red buff going over to Bard, 6 to 5 summoner spells down, and entire waves of minions wondering why they get to still be alive.
But this early 1k gold lead accrued by the American line-up dwindled off the back of massive CS leads in both the bottom and top lanes, before Suning flipped that advantage around through a Twisted Fate’s Gate leading to them taking the first drake.
Everything remained stable, with most of the action having taken place in the first two minutes still, until TL reclaimed a marginal lead. Small fights went back and forth without any change in the gold department for a long time, up to a pick resulting in Liquid taking down the Baron.
They kept winning each fight afterwards, and while the gold difference never went out of control, the game went to Liquid in a 32 minute win.
Now, TL still has to win their next game against MCX, and to wish for G2 to take down Suning. If both happen, they claim the second place of group A, while they are eliminated otherwise.
