TLOU2 Is Sony’s Fastest Selling Title Physically
This may not come as much of a surprise, but TLOU2 is a popular game. As it turns out, it’s the most popular Sony game. TLOU2 shot up the gaming charts and now sits top for this week only 3-ish days after it’s launch. While this is only based on physical disks, the ever-growing popularity of digital purchases would suggest that its domination is even more certain. Uncharted 4, another Naughty Dog title, was the previous record holder. It seems that (physically, at least) TLOU2 has beaten it by 1%.
As of this year, TLOU2 also takes the top spot of biggest launch. It has dethroned the incredibly popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons as this year’s biggest launch title. It has been reported that the PlayStation Exclusive had launch weekend sales around 40% higher than AC:NH. Isn’t that just a little bit mental?
Nintendo Titles Still Dominate The Top 10
This may not come as a surprise to you given the situation. Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold out pretty-much since Lockdown began. They are perfect for family entertainment and offer many more titles that would seem more appropriate to younger children.
The top ten, currently, is as follows:
- The Last of Us Part 2
- Ring Fit Adventure
- FIFA 20
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Minecraft
- 51 Worldwide Games
- Pokemon Sword
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto 5 continue to sit comfortably in the top 10, incredibly. Pokémon Sword and Shield both moved up the charts following the release of their first expansion. A lot of people, however, had trouble purchasing the right version of this, as it is listed differently for Sword and Shield. Thankfully, Nintendo have said they are allowing refunds for wrong purchases.
