Toronto Ultra took down Atlanta FaZe in a huge upset to win the CDL Stage 2 Major. They found their stride after taking down Rokkr and Empire early in the day and they were able to takedown FaZe 5-3 in the grand final.
FaZe were the heavy favourites going into the CDL Stage 2 Major, finishing at the top of their group and dominating the league through pool play. Of all teams that could have made a massive run through the losers bracket, Ultra was definitely a shocking one.

Once Toronto found a rhythm on championship Sunday, it seemed like they were unstoppable. All four players were hitting form with Benjamin Bance leading the charge and being named “Player of the Stage” after his lights outperformance.
In a poll to see who would win the tournament, only 0.2% of voters said Toronto Ultra, where over 50% of voters chose Atlanta FaZe.
This stage was very different from the first, with many of the teams that were previously struggling finally reaching their potential. Along with Ultra, it seemed like FaZe, Empire, Rokkr, OpTic, Subliners, and Surge all had the chance at a run for the trophy.
With a lot of teams hitting their form, we’re in for a very interesting Stage 3 of the Call of Duty League 2021.
