Valorant launched on June 2nd on PC, and the game has already become a fan favorite. The game originally started its beta back in April with millions of people watching Twitch streams, including us, to try and secure a key. The game perfectly blends CS:GO style FPS with fantasy-style abilities, much like ones from Riot’s hugely popular League Of Legends.
Evidence of a mobile version of Valorant has already been discovered, but now it appears we might be getting a console version, too. Executive producer Anna Donlon discussed the possibility of a console version in the future in an interview with Gamestop:
“We are definitely prototyping that right now. But there’s a way to play this game and there’s a way to experience this game that we’re not entirely sure translates completely to console play.”
Anna then discussed the expectations and competitive integrity of the game “If we feel like we can deliver this experience on those platforms, we absolutely will. But we really want Valorant to stand for a certain type of gameplay and a certain type of experience.”
CS:GO was released on Xbox 360 and wasn’t very popular back in the day, but with games such as Fortnite, Call Of Duty and Apex Legends doing very well on console, perhaps now would be a good time to launch Valorant on console. Just please keep it console vs console and PC vs PC.
Valorant is out now on PC via Riot Games.
