VALORANT Dominates Twitch Viewership during the first day of it’s closed beta. Riot Games’ closed beta for their new tactical 5v5 shooter began April 7th, with the only way of getting into the closed beta by watching Twitch streams and begging the RNG lords for a Twitch drop.
VALORANT saw over 1.7 million concurrent Twitch viewers and came very close to dethroning League of Legends’ peak-viewership spot at 1.77 million viewers during the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.
1.7 million viewers at once was enough to surpass Fortnite’s peak of 1.69 million during the 2019 Fortnite World Cup last July.
If you weren’t one of the lucky ones to get access on April 7, Riot have confirmed they’ll be distributing access to the beta as as the servers become able to handle the additional players.
