An explosives expert, Raze, is another duelist well-known for clearing areas and her soaring jumps that will catch you off guard. Here’s a VALORANT Raze Guide that will get you started with this damage-heavy agent!
Valorant Raze Guide: Abilities
Boom Bot (C)
Description: Send a Boom Bot out on a straight line. The Boom Bot will change directions when it hits an obstacle. When an enemy is in its frontal view, it will chase down the enemy as it gains speed and inflicts heavy damage. Cost: 200
Teammates can be hurt if near Boom Bot’s explosion.
If not destroyed or does not find an enemy, breaks down by itself after 10 seconds.
Blast Pack (Q)
Description: Throw a Blast Pack that attaches itself on to a surface. The Blast Pack can be detonated on cue or will detonate by itself shortly after thrown. When detonated, it will knock back and damage surrounding players. Cost: 200
The least damaging among Raze’s abilities but can damage both enemies and teammates.
Many use this as a jump pack to reach higher areas of the map. Be cautious as Raze can still take fall damage.
Paint Shells (E)
Description: Raze will toss a cluster of paint can grenades. After initial throw, grenades will detonate in 3 seconds then creates sub-munitions which further deals damage after another 3 seconds on the ground.
Great ability for clearing corners or sites.
Be careful not to hurt you and your teammates when throwing in populated areas.
Description: Raze equips a giant rocket launcher. A few seconds of set-up prior to the use of the ability, then you have 10 seconds to fire. Showstopper will explode upon contact. This ability carries a lot of damage and can one-hit enemies with the perfect hit.
Once equipped, use the 10 seconds to find your enemies. If not, use the ultimate to clear corners or spaces that might be possible hiding spots. Unlike Jett’s ultimate, you can’t save your ultimate for later once initiated.
Raze is not indestructible during the use of her Ultimate, enemies can kill you before firing your launcher.
Raze is an awesome balance of ability use and epic gunplay. As a duelist, you will be taking on the role to seek fights when possible. Her abilities can be very powerful against grouped-up enemies. Also, Raze seems to be a very prime pick to stop operator-users camping certain areas.
Raze does a lot of damage and can cause a lot of chaos on the field that when using her abilities or even just in simple battles, she can find herself in lots of need for healing. As a duelist who is unable to heal, back-ups of Sage or Skye would be appreciated.
If you’ve seen many Raze videos, you must have seen the awesome flying combos using the Blast Pack to jump over enemies and fire Showstopper in mid-air for a simple ace. Perfect for catching a whole team pushing a site together off guard!
When Raze uses fires Showstopper, she jolt back a bit giving you a chance to take a defensive stance after if needed.
Raze yells “Fire in the hole!” when equipping her ultimate, many times the enemy team will scatter and run away from the area.
Boom Bots and Paint shells can be useful for distractions. They can also be great for slowing down pushes when on the defensive side.
You’ll find many Raze players practicing their Blast Pack jumps in the range or custom games, and would definitely recommend that if you want to try her out and use her full potential. Now, go and obliterate the field!
