Warner Bros. Interactive, AKA WB Games, is available to purchase following AT&T’s decision to try and offload the hugely successful game division of Warner Bros. Entertainment.

AT&T Acquired Time Warner and WB Games In 2018
Netherrealm (Mortal Kombat), Rocksteady (Arkham Series), and TT Games (LEGO Series) are the three of the biggest development companies that come under the expansive Warner Bros. Interactive. With AT&T in about $165 billion in debt, this seems to be an attempt to claw back a small portion of this. The price they’re looking for is about $4 billion, which is both a lot and not a lot.
AT&T is in debt for a multitude of reasons. Part of this was the acquisition of Time Warner in 2018. From this, they acquired an additional $40 billion of debt. It’s insane to think about that amount of money, I know.
Could We See Another Arkham Game?
Reports show that the deal may also include a commercial licensing agreement. This means that AT&T might still get revenue from any IPs produced under their ownership, so the next LEGO or Harry Potter game to come from WB Games would probably still net them a pretty sum on top of the price paid for the company.
Sources at CNBC have said that Take-Two, EA, and Activision Blizzard are all interested, but there are no deals to speak of yet. This could be huge for the gaming industry and usher in a new era of games for popular Warner Bros. Interactive titles such as the Arkham series.
Concept art was discovered last year about a cancelled series starring Damian Wayne as Batman. However, as of today, there is nothing concrete. That doesn’t mean that we won’t see one, and we can hope to get more information during this summer’s several digital presentations.
