Finding Maze Bank Tower is one thing, and getting there is entirely another. This guide will detail how to find a maze bank in GTA 5, as well as the different ways you can get to the top. There aren’t any in-game yellow markers in GTA 5, so make sure you follow the steps in this guide carefully.
Where is Maze Bank in GTA 5?
Maze bank or Maze Tower in GTA 5 is located in Pillbox Hill, right in the center of Los Santos. It’s not too tough to spot if you’re driving around since it is the tallest building in GTA 5.
Maze Bank Tower has 96 stories, and it occupies an entire block in Los Santos. If you’re wondering: the Maze Bank Tower is based on real-life U.S Bank Tower, the tallest building in Los Angeles.
It’s reasonably easy to find Maze Bank Tower in GTA 5, and you only need to follow the map to arrive at the location in Pillbox Hill. However, entering the tallest building is easier said than done. You might want to get to the top of the tower to hide from LSPD or admire the skyline.
How to Get to the Top of Maze Bank Tower/Rooftop of Maze Bank?
For those who’ve played GTA San Andreas, you’ll remember being able to access the tower through yellow markers indicating the entry point. However, both GTA 5 and GTA Online iterations don’t have any markings to guide you towards the Maze Bank rooftop.
Since you can’t just climb the stairs, there are a few other ways to access the rooftop. All these methods involve aerial transportation.
Here are the four ways to get to the top of maze bank tower:
- Helicopter
- Plane
- Blimp
- Mega Ramp (mod)
Helicopter
Difficulty Level: Easy
The only two ways you can obtain a helicopter in GTA 5 is either by stealing it or purchasing it. Using a helicopter is the most straightforward method to get to the top of Maze Bank, and here’s how to go about it:
- Search for a helipad sign on the Los Santos map and travel to it. Usually, you’ll find a helicopter here, making it easy to steal it and use it to get to the rooftop of Maze Bank tower.
- If you don’t find a helicopter at the helipad sign or don’t have one on your map, there are plenty of other locations you can search in. Finding a helicopter in these locations isn’t guaranteed since they tend to spawn randomly.
Remember that stealing a Police Helicopter will give you a wanted level, which can make completing Maze Bank missions tougher since the police will try to intercept and catch you before you land the helicopter.
- Another way to acquire a helicopter is by purchasing it instead of stealing. You’ll have to buy a helipad as well as a helicopter. If you’re playing as Trevor, you’ll have a helipad by default, but playing as both Franklin and Michael will require you to buy a helipad for $419,850.
- If you’re open to the idea: using a cheat code can get you a helicopter without having to steal it or buy it from the game store. However, this is only available on the PC version of the game. To get the Buzzard Attack Chopper, use the code BUZZOFF.
- Once you’ve got the helicopter, you only need to fly it to the top of Maze Bank and land on the helipad.
Plane
Difficulty Level: Medium to Tricky
Using a Plane is another way to get to the Maze Bank Rooftop. While getting the plane is slightly tricky, landing the plane can be even tougher. Here’s how to go about it:
- You will first have to gain access to the Los Santos International Airport. Access to the airport is necessary if you want unrestricted access to the aircraft and planes without garnering a wanted level.
- If you choose not to buy the airport, you can risk entering the airport and get yourself a wanted level of three stars. This means you’ll have to escape just as quickly as you steal the plane.
- You can steal both private and public planes once you’re in the airport. You can also steal the military plane from Fort Zancudo, and it has a similar difficulty level to the airport.
- Since landing the plane isn’t easy, procuring a parachute is important. Players get a parachute automatically after completing the mission Minor Turbulence.
- If you’re traveling to the top of Maze Bank in order to complete Dom’s mission – you can’t use the parachute method. The parachute method results in the plane crashing on the street, which gives you a higher wanted level and results in Dom not appearing. You’ll have to land the plane on the helipad, so it’s a good idea to plan and choose a smaller cargo plane to hijack.
Blimp
Difficulty Level: Easy
Using the Atomic Blimp is one of the easier ways to get to the top of Maze Bank in GTA 5. It’s also much easier to maneuver an atomic blimp than a plane or helicopter. The Blimp can only be used when players are playing as Franklin.
- Complete Franklin’s intermission to gain access to an in-game app. Through this, order an Atomic Blimp.
- Pick up the Blimp on Vinewood Racetrack, easily located on the map. In some cases, the Blimp will have to be picked up from Los Santos International Airport instead.
- NPC Blimps can also be hijacked, though they tend to be guarded and can be a trickier process than hijacking a car in GTA 5.
- Flying the Blimp is relatively easy and slow. Similar to the plane, you can either attempt to land it on the helipad or jump off a parachute and let the blimp crash on the street.
Mega Ramp
Difficulty Level: Very Easy
If you can’t be bothered with stealing and purchasing a helicopter, plane, or Blimp: there’s a mod created for players just like you. This can only be obtained on the PC version of the game.
- Install the mod Maze Bank Mega Spiral Ramp on the game’s PC version.
- Now, you can travel in any car to the start of the ramp on the ground near the Maze Bank Tower. Drive up the ramp to the top of the tower.
- This method doesn’t increase your wanted level or cost anything and works with Dom’s mission.
