Wild Rift’s new Masters of the Hunt event is underway, so those of you who have not touched the mobile MOBA in a while might want to find the time to come back and collect all the free rewards from the event. The event also brings in two new champions, the void reaving insect Kha’Zix, and the far superior alpha kitty Rengar. Here’s everything you need to know about the new event in Wild Rift, Masters of the Hunt.
How to participate
The first step to accessing the Masters of the Hunt event is to simply log in. The event screen will be on the main menu of Wild Rift. Once clicking on the event page, players will have to choose a side, between Rengar and Kha’Zix.
Both sides will grant different rewards based on which team you chose, and your team can not be switched later, so think carefully about which character you think is cooler. The good news is that rewards for that team do not have to be earned on that specific champion, so if you like how Rengar or Kha’Zix looks, but don’t really care for their playstyle, or for jungling in general, you can still earn the rewards.
In order to earn the rewards, players will have to complete themed challenges for each unlock. These are things like kill participation, earning MVP awards, or securing Rift Heralds. Each unlock has two separate challenges to complete.
As fun as new missions are, the rewards are the real reason to play Wild Rift’s events, and Masters of the Hunt brings with it a wealth of free rewards.
All the rewards for the event are listed above, and as previously stated, the rewards given are based on the team selected at the start of the event. While both teams receive different rewards, the types of rewards given are all the same.
Both teams will receive the following rewards, with the cosmetics being based on the selected champion:
A player icon
A pose selection chest
A champion selection chest (Rengar or Kha’zix can be chosen regardless of team)
An icon border
500 Blue Motes
150 Poro Coins
The team that wins the event will also receive a unique icon and spawn tag based on their selected champion.
Unique event mechanics
The last new feature of the Masters of the Hunt event will be the most interesting for players that like new gameplay mechanics over anything. The new mechanic added with the event is the Nemesis Duel, an in-game event that triggers when certain conditions are met later on in a match.
The first champion to kill the other will receive a buff for the rest of the match.
Rengar victory: Ultimate activation will automatically builds up ferocity stacks.
Kha’Zix victory: Extra evolution point granted, for a maximum of 4.
The Nemesis Duel is a permanent addition to the game, and as such will persist past the Masters of the Hunt event. The Nemesis Duel mechanic will also apply to the newly added Renekton, and his brother Nasus.
Renekton victory: Ultimate activation will grant maximum fury until it ends.
Nasus victory: Siphoning Strike will deal extra damage in an area around the target.
While the Nemesis Duel is a permanent addition, the new missions and rewards will only be available for a limited time, so Rengar and Kha’Zix fans will want to play as much Wild Rift as possible until the Masters of the Hunt event ends on the 18th.
