As the day opens up, FNC beat TSM and end their chances of advancing to the playoffs.
The game started off in a very slow fashion, in spite of of the crowd control packed by both teams, of Graves’ early damage, and of TSM’s Camille-Galio combo. The first blood was only claimed 12 minutes in by Fnatic through a mid lane roam, simultaneously answered by a double kill from North America on the top side. Similarly, only one turret plate fell, although FNC managed to get two drakes for themselves during that time.
The action started on the third drake, TSM being forced to contest it to deny Fnatic a very early soul point. As the American team focused on taking down the objective, their European counterpart managed to pick off an isolated Camille… while Selfmade also stole the dragon, making this a net loss for TSM.
A pick and dive brought another two kills to Fnatic, and a swift teamfight win later on put the score up to 7-3 for EU, alongside a menacing 5k gold lead 21 minutes in.
The decisive blow was struck as Fnatic grabbed themselves an Ocean soul followed by a 5-0 fight, and from that point, it was all but over. A Baron followed, and while FNC hadn’t even taken the mid outer turret, a 10k gold lead paired up with an Ocean soul and a purple buff meant that TSM could do nothing but watch or die – which they eventually did both – as the team in orange marched through the entirety of mid lane and took down the Nexus.
With this win, Fnatic get themselves up 3-1, but still need another win to even be guaranteed a tiebreaker to advance. Meanwhile, TSM is out of contention, and will spend the rest of the day playing spoilers.
