League of Legends Worlds 2020 will begin September 25th and will conclude on October 31st. Worlds will be held exclusively in Shanghai to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.

2019 World Championship
Worlds 2019 took place across Europe, starting in Berlin with the Play-In stage & Group Stag, Madrid for the quarterfinals and semifinals, and Paris for the finals in which we saw FunPlus Phoenix dominate G2 Esports with a 3-0 victory.
Currently LoL 2019 World Championship is the most viewed esport event, reaching a record breaking 21.8 million in average minute audience and an impressive 44 million peak viewers.
2020 World Championship
Earlier stages will not be played in front of a live audience. Riot will focus more on the digital viewing experience. 2020 finals will take place on October 31st in the newly built Pudong Stadium, which will open 2021.
Future World Championships
Riot will return to China in 2021 for the full World Championship tour, bringing the experience to fans across the country as originally intended. After that, North America will then host the World Championship in 2022.
